the look blew me away, but never thoght i could afford one than i looked into it and realized it isn't hard to get one as long as u have good credit or rich parents, in my case i had a good job with good credit , so looked hard 4 the color i wanted and found it, and jumped on it. xtremely pleased with the comfort and durability so far and nice power from where i came from ( 94 honda accord 4 cy) best choice i've made so far as far as cars.

In '94 I lived on base in Japan and saw this guy, Mr. palmer was his name. he had a 94 aristo with chrome rims a spoiler, blacked out lights, and vip style exhaust. I told myself, that was my future car. so after selling some english bulldogs and driving a paid-off junker for 3 years I had enough to buy my childhood dream car. except I went with the newer bodystyle. but I will buy the old body style someday too.

I'm sorry let me clarify of selling bulldogs. I'm a English Bulldog breeder. SO I sold the puppies. I still have My pet English Bulldogs at Home and yes, I too would get rid of the GS before the dogs.

yes, that same pic was it for me too . plus the power, reliability, comfort... is it just me, or does that car look really low for a stock GS?

That first pic is the one that Edmunds.com always shows for the GS.
I always loved the look of the GS, right from the Gen 1. I remember how much I loved the Gen 2 when it came out, and I always used to point it out to my girlfriend one I saw one on the road. Never thought I could afford one (or shell out $50 on a depreciating asset), but my '94 Caddy SLS was dying and I ran across a preowned one at a good price. I have been loving this car for the past 2 1/2 years.

Ever since I read the first road test in Car and Driver back in 97 on the GS400 - I was hooked on the power, looks and ofcourse Toyota's legendary reliability.
Absolutely no regrets buying my 99 GS400 four months ago.
Looking forward to the next generation with eager anticipation. The Lexus still ranks as the best car for the money in terms of satisfaction (albeit with a few suspension mods), reliability and overall satisfaction. For the rest of the world that can spend money without thinking twice about it - go get a Bimmer or Benz!!
