Default Noob Radio Question

Is it possible to install the factory Mark L sat nav system, into a vehicle that did not originally come with it from the factory?

Step 1: Ask the LS400 forum

But while I'm here, the obvious answer would be to replace it with a working factory radio..

Technically, yes. Realistically it isn't worth the trouble, as you would basically have to replace the interior wiring harness from the firewall back so everything plays nicely and the correct plugs are in place behind the dashboard and in the trunk for the navigation computer.

Yeah it seems the OEM Navi is a dinosaur and isn't worth the trouble, you couldn't take a OEM navi radio bezel, pop the screen out and put an aftermarket screen to it? That way you get the OEM look but with a modern up to date navigation?

Not really, you wouldn't be able to use any of the buttons or other features on it if you did that, most notably the climate control.

I would say to just change it out, you will probably go through too much trouble trying to fix it
