I just came back from an AutoShow in NY and spoke to a Lexus rep there. He told me that the new GS will be out in the fall of 2005 as a 2006 model so we have to see two more models of the current GS (04 and 05). The good news was that the new GS will come in a 350 form and the 500 form with the latter being a 5.0 V8 putting out significantly more HP than then new 325hp BMW V8 slated for the 2004 540. I can hardly wait.

Thanks for the info RayChik. Although the news that the car will be introduced in 2006 is a little depressing.

I was hoping we would get the car sooner rather than later.

Well I guess, but I am picking up a 2003 GS430 and would hate for it to look old too soon so I am not too upset.

Thanks man, I was waiting 2 months for it and cannot wait to drive it. So by the time my lease expires in the middle of 2006 I can get the new GS and by that time it will be out for some time so prices won't be sky high and ridiculous wait times should not be a problem.

wow that 5.0 sounds great....... hopefully they wont make it look bad though.

I hope so too. Everytime I read a thread about the next generation GS and see the accompanying pictures I always wonder whether that is the final version. Is it me, or has there been a lot of photoshopped pictures floating around?
