I power brake, lay the patch 3 times today (don't forget I have 285 tires, so it's hard for me to break traction, but with power brake I can do it everytime. I'll take a picture for ya when i get a chance

anh,

try this then...

pour a puddle of water on a blacktop...
such as a asphalt parking lot.

roll one of your rear wheels over the water.

then try and power brake...

see if the side that's not wet will lay down a patch.

if so, then you know that power is being transfered to the wheel that's not slipping.

if the dry side doesn't spin, you know that all of the power is being transfered to the slick
side = open diff.

From the way I understand it, all Supra LSD's from 93-98 were torque-sensing, i.e. Torsen type. 93-98 model years were worm gear LSD in the manual transmission 2JZ-GTE. 97-98 model year 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE automatics came with an optional helical gear Torsen LSD. The following thread describes the differences in detail:

Supra Forums

Your picture certainly does not appear to be a Torsen-type LSD.

I have been searching for a used 3.76 LSD on the Supra Forums. Both people that responded to my "WTB" wouldn't send me pictures of the inside of the pumpkin which I would require before I sent any money. Even if you get your money back, you dont' get your time and labor back. The moral of this story is: don't buy a used Supra differential until you get a picture of the insides confirming LSD.
