not at all i just
removed the EFI fuse and the EFI relay, (to disable ignition)
put a socket on the bolt attached to a breaker bar
then just gave it a quick crank the pulley turned along with the attached breaker bar
once the breaker bar hit the frame as it turned with the pulley the pulley bolt became loose it lessened

Defiantly an advanced (i.e. sorta dangerous) technique that does work great. Luckily your smart enough to pull the fuelpump fuse, as not everyone is. That beaker bar could cause alot of damage if it slips, or gets thrown out of the bay.

Yea, I never thought of removing the relays However, I've never completely turn the key, just snapped it forward then back very quickly till it broke the bolt. Dont think it has to do with being smart though rather than just being conscious about what position your key is in

I just picture someone not so mechanically inclined needing to get the pulley loose and his buddy saying "oh I seen on the internet all do is put a wrench on it and turn the key...." there is bit more prep and thought process to it than that for safety of the engine bay and the friends with their heads hovering over the bay watching the pulley when he starts the car..

haha, the moral of the story is just that one needs to be VERY aware of what they are getting ready to do when they turn the key.
