Default PCV Valve Question

I have a 2003 GS300. I am wanting to change the PCV valve. The question I have is which is the PCV valve in the picture? The one on the right is metal and threaded (I have removed those hose from it already). The one on the left appears to be plastic. I've seen posts about people replacing them and they mostly talk about them being plastic. I assumed I was to replace the metal one though. Also, I noticed the hose going to the one on the left was cracked. Can anybody tell me where I can get a replacement hose for this? Thanks in advance for all help.

brock125,

First, Welcome to the club and forum.

Second, The PCV Valve is the right one on your picture. The metal one. About the hoses, where you can get it, is only in the dealer or any website like eBay or Amazon. Factory hoses comes with the curves and shape that you need or the car need to be in place. Hoses after market don't come with those curves and is more difficult to adapt in place. Look at this website to get the idea where the parts is located, part number and maybe all the information that you need to know about it. God Look

Can anybody confirm if this is the type of MAF that I can use CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner on? I saw conflicting posts on here about certain MAF's that you can and can't use that cleaner on. Thanks again for all your help.

Really? It's never been touched and I have about 155k on my car. I just assumed it was probably dirty.

The MAF is a hotwire type and yes the gs maf's are ok to clean with crc maf cleaner.

Your maf does look pretty clean compared to others for sure. You are looking at the temp sensor there it would usually have a black build up on it.

But the Hotwire pickup is down inside the sampling tube, and that what can get dirty and effect the mafs operation (or it gets broken), it's a tiny little bare wire filament and should never be touched, but low pressure light spraying is ok, just don't stick the red spray nozzle into the sampling tube.

The older pre-obdii lexus models had Karman Vortex Mafs that can get damaged with cleaners.
