Need Help with 2jzgte swap
Hello, I recently bought a 1998 lexus gs 300 2jzgte aristo swap. It was originally a twin turbo now is a single turbo running on a piggy back (I know it's bad) and I recently changed the tps out and now the idle is high, takes forever to build boost, engine shuts off if I try to build boost and the trans shifts hard especially when I put it into gear. I've been reading but since I bought the car like this I don't know all the parts. As far as I know it's stock everything besides the turbo kit. Any help would be appreciative

Adam1130,
First, Welcome to the club and forum,
Second, When I read that you changed the TPS, what goes through my mind is, if you're 100% sure that you put that TPS correctly? Because if your idler is high, that indicated that you didn't put the TPS correctly. Take out the TPS, move the throttle gas cable as a quarter inch and try to put back the TPS. If the TPS comes right, then is in position. You can also, adjust a bit the TPS when you have the two screw as tight but not 100%. Drop them only the screw a little, adjust the TPS to the you feel that the revolution go nice or that must have that set up. Try that. Just make sure that the TPS is properly installed. Good luck.

First piggybacks are not bad, what piggy and injectors are you running? A fic, haltech, mapecu, emanage, etc piggybacks can be tuned to work great and consistent. The problems you read of issues with hot starts, fuel trims, and o2 sensors are cause from lack of understanding what the vvti ecu's are doing by the tuner.
Second, what was the reason you tried to change the tps in the first place? Are you on a ****ty tune but thought the tps was causing the drivability issues?
Follow the service manual for the proper troubleshooting and then if you need to you can also try the ETCS calibration reset procedure - Turn the key to the “ON” position but don’t turn over the car, put your foot completely down on the throttle “Gas” pedal for 30 seconds, you should hear a beeping/humming sound while the ETCS-i system resets, turn the ignition to “Off”.
