GS400 Opinion Wanted
#16
I'd take both the Lexus and GS400 off, but only if I were to repaint. Do these cars have the pegs on the emblems, where there are holes that you have to sand, fill and paint??? I know my SC300 is like that, because when I replaced my gold badges for chrome, I thought about taking off the Lexus until I realized that it would need to be painted. Since the factory paint was still minty fresh, I didn't want to screw around with it. Even without the pegs, the old glue/backing from the emblem would have been impossible to get off without damaging the paint with solvents.

Hopefully, relocating the GS400 badge should be out of the question now. Whenever I see a badge that isn't where I expect it to be, I also immediately think that the trunk was resprayed by an amateur.
I prefer the stock look, followed by removing both LEXUS and GS400 as a very distant second. Removing just the LEXUS feels like doing something for the sake of doing it, and removing both badges feels like something that you'd do if you had a GS300 or a GS with heavy exterior mods. Messing with the OEM badges seems like an optional rite of passage for how heavily modified the car is engine or body-wise. If it's the only exterior mod, it feels a little bit silly to me.
Also, I vote no to the large L emblem. Those should stay on the 3GS+. They're a product of the bigger badging arms race that I largely blame Mercedes for revitalizing when they decided to put the large tristar on their grilles again. Flava Flav wore smaller clocks around his neck.

Thank you for the opinion! I'm really glad to get a lot of feedback with this, and I'm always open to more.
I do agree, what you said was very well put. My car is not stock suspension wise, and engine put down around 360 horsepower after the headers and tune.
I just wish that Lexus had not put the name emblems there on these older cars. Waiting until 2011 kind of makes the older ones look bad in a way, at least to me.
