Yep it's solid rust!

i used to stockpile mods and do them together as i would already be in the area so i would order OEM bolts from Sewell for everything i needed and get them in and then do everything together. Sewell was super cheap when they had their online website, especially compared to my local dealer. if your gonna do something like this, find a cheap dealership and go with a OEM bolt NOT a home depot bolt IMHO

I've learned to torch everything get it nice and red before attempting pulling out old bolts. Definitely will save some hassle

Before and after pictures. Looks good so far! Thank you for all the help guys. @SpectraBlu the other side went a lot nicer, same process as the first side.

Im running godspeed mono max coils. I bought these 2 years or so ago for my old wrx and really liked them so I bought them again ahah. I took the gs around the block (returning all the tools I borrowed) and they felt great! maybe even better. I changed my way of preloading the springs and super happy with the outcome! If you want to go a little cheaper they have the mono rs's. My girlfriend has those on her gs and they feel completely different. The mono max's have a better spring rate and more comfortable ride I think for going "low." Defiantly worth the extra money.
