I actually like these. Yeah, the quad headlight design on the current GS is attractive, but if Lexus is going to go for a consistent family design, then you have to think that the quad headlights stand a pretty good chance of going away.

With AWD, (please, please, PLEASE) a manual tranny, and the luxury enhancements one would expect of a third-generation vehicle in this price range, the GS will be hard to beat!

I think manual trannies will be a thing of the past in sport sedans in this price range except for maybe BMW but even they are moving to SMG.

Yeah, and that sucks. As with my recent mental bouncy-bounce, to get a "true" sports sedan you have to look at the G35, S4, etc...even the WRX and Evo. I guess the current model M5, the current 540i, the new 545i, and the current A6 2.7T (chipped) are the only options where you can get the size of a GS with the sportiness of a true manual tranny...ARGH!

The 1st pic looks like a mazda 6.
I hope it will look different from that.

Thumbs down

First picture is the cross of a Mazda 6 (front) and a BMW 745 (front doors back)
Second is M Benz (front) and BMW 3 series (front doors back)
IMHO I don't like them at all

that is not a GS, that is just the HPX headlights thrown onto some cartoon that they called the GS. all these pictures look different, and none of them are real. one thing i found out is to not trust autospies or autofiend's sketches of new models. a sketch is nothing, even if it comes from a magazine... unless its straight from toyota or lexus. all of these "next year models" look way too different from the current model, and lexus isnt the car to change the ENTIRE look fo the car in one year....

I don't like the GS picture at all. I'd much rather take a current model than that. The LS is nice, though...

I don't know that I agree with that. The current ES300 is a pretty radical change cosmetically from the previous generation, and the SC430 has very little in common with the SC300/SC400 other than the moniker. Obviously the first-gen GS and the second-gen GS were pretty different as well, so what's to say that the third-gen wouldn't be just as drastic a change?

new es stretched the headlights and shortened the tail lights. the sc had years between the first second and third gens where they didnt make the car, which is my excuse for that.... if i saw the gs drawings in real life and didnt know they were a gs, i wouldnt be able to tell you what kind of car they were.... but yeah, i guess they could change a lot since it is the generation change

Looks as if they based their drawing on this one, either that or lexus really wants their models to have that uniform lexus look...

that last pic is a month old, and i still believe that these are all fake, i could probably photoshop one of these and put it up on a website and call it the new gs.... (maybe, don't know if my photoshop skills are THAT good)

This month's Automobile says to look for the new GS at the Tokyo auto show at the end of the year. Also confirmed LS is going 500 so odds seem to favor SC and GS going 500 as well. As for the photoshop attempts, a few more months waiting will reveal who, if anyone, was close.
