Please help with O2sensor bank 2 sensor 1
i have researched all over this sit no one has really given a follow up to how they where able to remove there bank 2 sensor 1. I tired sliding a 7/8 wrench over the sensor but it's too long. I have tried the short O2 socket with a swivel head 3/8 socket. I also tired an O2 wrench with a socket connected with 45 degree bend in it. I could get any leverage to crack it loose. I have tried under the car above the car no luck.So my question is what tool do I use to get this thing out? I really don't want to take this thing to the stealership. Thanks in advance

Hi Iparkcars,
What I do is , I try to tighten the sensor a little and when I feel or hear as a small click, then is when I try to release the sensor. 99 percent of the time I can drop. It's a trick I've used for years with my Toyotas and Lexus. Other members such use WD-40 and leave you the WD-40 or any good penetrating to remove screws all night and the next day in the morning , try again and manage to get it out. Also, use the small O2 sensor socket and I do from the top of the car. Good luck.

I used pb blaster on it. What kind of ratchet do you use with the sensor? How are you able to get enough leverage to turn it? It's very tight in there? It seems to hit the exhaust when I try to loosen it?

To anyone trying to get this sensor off bank 2 sensor one there is a easy way to get it off remove the intake tube that goes from the throttle body and engine air filter.if you loosen the Phillips head screws on both sides it will come right off. You then will have plenty of room to use a wrench or a 02 sensor socket. Hopefully this helps

Sorry, sorry for the late replay to you. I use a regular ratchert 3/4 and I did for the top of the engine. Maybe what you problem is that the previous owner change the exhaust manifold for one of these manifold IS300 and are more close to the engine and so you do not have much space or room to release that sensor. That's what I can think is your problem. My suggestion to you is, go to any mechanic shop and ask how you can release that sensor, to see what happen?
