Yup, the GS4 is really good with the throttle response. I recently removed my K&N and Borla setup and I find the car is even more responsive just stock. Might loose a bit of HP without the intake/exhaust but daily driving is greatly improved. Lexus engineers really did a good job with it. I find in terms of daily driveability it is even better than my ISF. Drive by wire is just not as nice as mechanical throttle control.

wow liking it more then an ISF is saying a lot. It is an amazing car though I truly miss that instant throttle response and just the way it feels. Only reason I got the 430 is because I couldn't live without steering wheel radio controls on a daily driver as crazy as that sounds. I really miss that mechanical throttle!

Miles or kilometres, it's a lot. I have 254,000KM on my GS4. runs like new, interior looks maybe 5 years old. Exterior paint is like new but for parking lot dings and scrapes. The one thing that bothers me is it's rusting on the leading edge of the roof - real Toyota style rust! I really think 2-gen cars will outlast 3 and 4-gen cars, they just seem to be made of better materials. And, the 1UZFE is pretty understressed in real terms.

newgsman. You said you put 500K on a Cressida? Wow! How many head-gaskets did it use? I have a 90 Cressi with 157K did the HG 30,000K ago and it wants another one. Neat cars though. And BTW how weird is that there's more than one guy in Canada with a 2GS and a M83 Cressi?

I only did the head gasket once at around 140K. The secret is to get the had shaved perfectly flat and then torque the head bolts to 90ft-lbs. I also used brand new oem head bolts and a stock head gasket.
Too bad your in Alberta, I actually still have a couple of heads sitting in the garage and a few other odds and ends from supras and cressidas.

I have 302k miles on my 98 GS. Runs very well and still idles smooth and quiet as it did when I first got it with 107k miles on it. Best and most reliable vehicle I've ever seen. I hope my 3g GS lasts as long. Always did routine maintenance and didnt beat on it. Only thing I've ever had to do as far as replace anything was wheel bearings and a sticking brake caliper.

Great, something to look forward to. Just bought a 98 GS4oo, with 217Km on it. Never winter driven, hope it lasts as long. Just don't know what maintenance type repairs have been done to it.

I had just over 328k miles last oil change. Love my GS4. Has a little bit of rust and discoloration on the PDW right over the windshield. I bought at 205k, had the timing belt, water pump etc done and only true failures since then have been the starter and fuel pump. I've spent more on tires in the past 8 years than I have in true maintenance. Im keeping her till shes dead!!!
