First one just bypassed the factory amp. Second one never posted the PDF they said they had for wiring into the factory amp. So I still haven't seen someone successfully activate the factory amp with a signal from an aftermarket source. There is a poster in the first thread who says they are an MECP certified installer, and they corroborate the notion that the factory amp can't be activated by an aftermarket source.
