P1349
Last week, a reputable repair shop--not a dealership--replaced the timing belt, timing gear, and other parts on my 2001 GS300, just as called for in the owner's manual. I am the car's first and only owner, and it has always been timely serviced and maintained by the same shop.
Since this work was done, my check engine light has been on with only one code: P1349, a malfunction in the vvt-i-i intake system. I've never had this code before––or any other related to vvt-i. I replaced the system's filter, oil control valve and also replaced the motor oil/filter even though it had only about a thousand miles on it. Still, the code has persisted.
I've found lots of posts where other trouble codes accompanied P1349 but none where it was the only one AND the car has had no problems with drivability. It runs perfectly as always.
Can anyone help?

If I remember correctly that is a 2 trip code. The first time the computer gets that code it only stores it. No check engine light. The second time you drive and it reads that code then You get a check engine light that stays until the code is cleared. Did you have the code cleared or at least disconnect He battery for a minute?

[QUOTE=mphsatty;9639205]Did your check engine light finally go away?[/QUOTE
Yes, I had a leaking rear main seal so I kept running Low on oil. I guess some sludge started to work its way through the system. I replaced the OCV Valve and the light stayed on. Then I noticed the oil was low so I topped it off and the light stayed on. For some reason I took the ocv filter out and it was gunked up pretty bad. It was only about a year old.
