Holy *****! I just replaced a set of Raybestos with Moogs on my car, just can't afford the OEM at Canadian prices, $548 each! Seriously, is there any other car out there with as hopeless a front end as ours? In 150,000Km I've replaced 3X as many parts and spent 10X as much on this car's front suspension than I did on two GM cars I put 350,000km on each.

Not to be rude but what do you expect? your replacing parts with cheaper aftermarket ones instead of the original O.E. design. you get what you pay for. plus the gm cars you brag about probably don't have the sophisticated suspension design our lexus cars have. again, not trying to be rude but please don't blast our cars. there the best on the road. if you can't afford O.E. parts, buy a Hyundai.

lol, sophisticated suspension design... best on the road...

20 year old basic all-steel upper/lower arm suspension design that was approximately "pretty good" to start with.

BMW and Mercedes do have a leg up on lexus. yes, the design is much older. What can I say, I'm just so in love with 2nd. gen. GS.

I wouldn't call constant early wear/breakage of suspension parts sophisticated in any way. The rear suspension on the GS seems bullet-proof as does the engine, drivetrain, interior - excellent Lexus quality you expect. This kind of thing wouldn't be tolerated on any other car, Lexus dropped the ball here. Having said all that, I love the car, whenever I spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the front end, I drive it and it feels like Superman's car.

That is basically the only flaw in the 2GS, the suspension SUCKS, have to agree with Arcadian. Still one of the most reliable engine/trannys ever made but Lexus definitely cut some corners on the suspension. I have spent thousands on parts that wear out prematurely and all OEM! If the 2GS had the suspension of the 2LS it would probably be the perfect car! That being said, you really cannot find a better used car for the price, honestly.

Looks like I may have to replace these as well.
Are you guys doing it yourself or paying a shop for installation ?
