Default I need your advises on possible purchase of gs430

hey guys,
I need your help on possible purchase of this 2002 gs430.
I found on autotrader and seems to be good price range that I am looking for but wanted to get your advise. I talked to the dealer and they said that they have title guard insurance where it insures the title of no flood or accident or anything. It was lexus finance repo. Is there anything I should do before to make sure the car is in good shape? I think I can get the price just little lower than what they post it but not too much. thanks for all your help

Looks like a pretty sweet deal to me. And if you don't like those rims, you can always sell them and get some money back. Let us know what happens.

since you are looking at cali cars, i would highly suggest you look at something stock. unless you truly know the last owner who mod the car well, you are taking much larger risk...esp the part where the ad said, all electronics operate thru stock navi..if, just if anything goes wrong, esp your navi system, the dealer would simply blame on the mods..

most importantly, not factoring in the mods, that price is not that "attractive"...pre-owned cars are good buys, but def look carefully..if you find something in LA adn want me to check it out for you, PM me ..

Checked out the pictures/write-up of the car. It has numerous mods; are there any done to the engine/drivetrain? If there are , this may (most likely) void the warranties that exist on this car from Lexus. It should have drivetrain and bumper to bumper warranties still in effect for quite a while longer. I would not worry about this flood/title guard insurance stuff; this is usually just simply to get more money out of your pocket. The only real way to ensure against previous accidents/abuse of this car is to go over it yourself if you feel comfortable, or have an unbias , Lexus tech (or comparable) inspect it on the rack for you for a fee. I would suggest this inspection no matter what before you lay down this kind of change. I put my 400 on a rack and took a flashlight to every bolthead for about an hour each on three separate occassions prior to purchase.

hey gs4will,
thanks for your advise.
I think the dealer is located in irvine. I would love to check out the car for myself but can not since I am located in denver. so if you or know anyone that can check out the car for me I would really appreciate it. I will compensate for the trouble. I was thinking of even hiring a lexus technician to take a look at the car also planning to fly out to check out the car for myself before final purchase. again if someone could check out the car for me especially knowledgeble person like you would mean great relief for me. let me know if you can or not. thanks

Kap..

at that price range(may be even lower), you can easily pick up a CPO GS430 at the lex dealer and may be have some leftover $$$ for mods in the future, and do it to your own taste..at least that is what i would do...

btw, you might even get a demo with low miles for that price i can call few dealers and ask for you

Default is this good price?

I called local dealer here and I was quoted new 03 gs430 with nav/levinson with chrome wheels for 49k.
I think this would be better deal for me but just would like to get you guys opinions.
thanks
