Thumbs up L-Tuned 18"s installed...pics

The pics aren't exactly small, so I'll just link out to them instead of killing bandwidth here.

http://www.wells-inc.com/interests/G.../LTunedWheels/

I'm really happy with them. I threw them on myself yesterday, and tomorrow I'm taking her in to have an alignment and to have the odo/speedo adjusted for the wheel diameter change.

Now I'm planning to put my stock 17"s up for sale here and/or eBay. They're in generally quite good shape with a couple of small nicks from three years of usage. Anyone have a suggestion for how much I should ask?

nice...and they look bigger by virtue of not being multipiece. 18" look best in one piece and 20" must be multipiece to look good

Thanks for all the good words, guys! Like I said, I'm really happy with these wheels from just about every perspective.

It's the L-Tuned exhaust. I need to polish the tips at some point, though. They're a little sooty...

Default LOOK BIG!

The 18" looks so much bigger than I thought it would be. NICE set up. I love the tires you have on.... Good job!

Default Looks great!

I'm thinking about changing from my stock 17's with pilot sports into the L-tuned 18's with Pilot Sports.

My current tires are getting worn so seems like a good time to consider this. The package deal from Steve G. seems awfully tempting.

How do you compare handling and ride quality after the change?

Any shimmy or vibration in the steering wheel? Your post said you were "happy from just about every perspective". Is there any part you are not happy with?

Thanks for your insights.

I'll pick up the car tomorrow from the dealer with proper alignment and computer adjustment for the diameter change, so I haven't gotten much road time on the new wheels. The time I have gotten, though, has been very positive.

There's a slight extra bit of road noise, but nothing very noticeable. Needless to say, I was looking for it when I heard it. The handling seems flatter and more connected, but I definitely feel more of the road coming through as well. That's something I don't mind. In fact, the ride is better if you ask me. The rear wheels seem a little stickier, understandable because of the larger contact patch (and new tires vs. the rather worn ones I'd been on).

My qualification "from just about every perspective" wasn't really meant to imply that there were aspects with which I'm unhappy. It just means that I really like the way the wheels look on the car and feel when driving.

If you want to give me a week of time on the new wheels post-alignment, I'll be more than happy to give you a "long term" assessment.

Oh, and I went with Steve for the wheels as well. Great price if you ask me...

looks great! i have the same ones w/ Mich Pilot Sports. How much did they charge you to do the alignment and computer adjustment? I didn't know that there was a difference in diameter from the stock 16 inch. Let me know some insight on that!

Be carefull going over bumps too quickly. I went over one of those little concrete lips going from the street to a parking lot and sheared a rear lug nut! No damage to the wheel or tire (which is a good thing; shows they are strong).

looking forward to updates on yours!
