Default Pearl white paint yellowing

Well, the lower portion of the car seems to have finally changed color. When it goes in for the 30k service I've got one more thing to add to my list of issues. TSB PA002-99 should cover it. Just a fyi for those that have GS' with the white pearl paint jobs.

Is your car still under 4/40 warranty?

It's odd, I just bought a 99 with Pearl White paint, and it looks great, no yellowing at all yet.

I guess I'll keep waxing it like crazy

ChrisFL, I love the sig! As BananaGS stated, it's an issue with the early pearl white cars, not the crystal white ones. I had mine re-painted by Hennessy Lexus and they did a fabulous job. My car looks new.

yes, it's an old, new, topic. In fact, I didn't know there could be a problem until Jan 2003 when I read a post in CL about it.

Best damn Lexus club!

Hmm, maybe I do have crystal white. The dealer told me it was pearl white, but I know they changed colors, was it in 1999 they went to crystal white?

I have the same "yellowing problem" with my 98 GS4.
It's really pissin me off!!!!! My car's out of warranty and the best that Lexus could do is offer the parts (pre-painted from the factory) for a 15% discount.
The total for the molding and the cladding on the bottom of the doors is still over $2000!
There's got to be a solution to this, the paint is defective regardless of the car's mileage....

You could probably have your entire car repainted for a little more then that. My car is still under warranty so I hope they will repaint it. The problem is that I have some bumper damage from street parking so I will have to cut some kind of deal with them for their replacement.
