At a recent ClubLexus weekend meet in the Great Smoky Mountains I won a drawing for one of our door prizes provided by Steve Ganz of Carson Toyota. It was for a JDM item I wasn't sure would fit on my GS and although IMO it's borderline ricey, I think it's a very nice looking cosmetic mod. I only hesitated installing it for a moment and now that I've seen it on my car, I'm a big fan .

The item is a TRD Fuel Cap Cover, item 77315-SP000. I'm not sure how hard these are to get or how much they cost, you'll need to contact Steve's team for that information. The item is not a full gas cap replacement, it's just a cover that attaches to your existing gas cap with adhesive (see pics below).

Take a look and let me know what you think!

I've got other TRD cosmetic mods on my car, so I guess this is really just like those (radiator and oil filler covers). Thanks as always Steve!

Dave do you still get to keep the plastic piece that keeps your gas cap from leaving within 4" of the fuel door??

Good question that I didn't even think of. 1998 Lexus like mine don't have that plastic leash (at least both my GS and LS don't have 'em), they only have a little rack on the gas filler door to stick your cap onto while you fill the car.

Don't know how it would work if you had the leash. If the leash is attached to the bottom edge it probably would work, or worst case cut a little notch in it. If it's smack in the middle, not sure

looks good........ not ricey at all. Ricey is taking the gas cover (door) off and putting one of those racing covers on.

Now all you have to do is paint a nice design of a hot chick on the inside of the gas cover door w/ the words thank you. LOL I thought about doing that with my daughters picture. So I can see her beautiful smile as I fill the car up.

that 2 me is a neat mod..... something that isn't really needed yet added 4 own state of mind and anyone who's looking at u while u poor gas into u'r car,.... good find, i'm inetrested in one, where? and how much?
