Why does it seem like Some or all GS spoilers have gaps on their trunk mounting???
Can this be fixed? or is it jsut some spoilers?
Truthfully i think that the gap makes it look like the wing will fall off or is improperly installed..

what do you thinK???

Hey Steve, I agree with you. I got my installed when I got my car from the dealership and I hate to say that 1200 for the factory spoiler was nothing but wasted. I will take a picture when I have time.

 

From my understanding there is 2 different versions of the stock spoiler. I believe there is a pic from Dex 's site comparing the 2 with his and davegs4. I have the one that has a slight gap but it is not that bad and hardly noticable to me anyways.

Actually ours are the SAME year (98) and they are still different. There is even a third variety I've seen in 98 where the 'fins' extend almost to the back window. I've seen this variety mostly on GS's that came from the factory with a spoiler. Mine is OEM, but was added by a dealer after the fact (I have a third brakelight on the back deck). I prefer the one with the fins that go to the back window (Mo's old GS at SRT looks like this, among others).

I can only theorize that Lexus used different designs and/or spoiler manufacturers throughout the year.
