Default Back to being a GS owner

Hello everyone I am back on the forums I had a 2000 gs300 back in 2013, but sold it due to couldn't drive it very well during NJ winters. So i moved down to the ATL a little over 6 months ago, and been seeing so many GS down here so I decided to buy 1. So I just picked up a 2003 GS300 sport design with 131k miles. Just took it to the midas to get it checked out I was planing on getting the 90k mile service anyways just to be sure. But they confirmed to me i have a small value cover leak. So I plan on doing that the full timing belt, water pump, hoses, and full tuneup. I call the guys at toyolex in florida since i use to deal with them alot with my other GS, they quoted me around $400 for the 16pc timing belt kit. And around $200 for the 16pc tuneup kit. But I am new around here so if anyone knows any good lexus/toyota shops in south ATL i am in the Clayton County area please let me know. The lexus dealer quoted me around $1900 and toyota dealer quoted me around $1500. But as far as the car I paid $3500 so after taxes and title cost me $3900 for it let me know if you think its a good deal.

I think you got a good deal. My brother-in-law just got a 1998 GS300 with 282,000 miles a few months ago for $3,000. High miles, yes, but as you know these cars run forever. He loves it.

I just had my second timing belt change on my 1999 GS400 at 220,000 miles (first one was at 120,000) and I think it was $1,236 or so at the Lexus dealer. Even though it's a bit more expensive I generally have my TB/WP change done there. I do have an Indy as well (Mercedes/BMW/Lexus shop) but sometimes he's so booked it takes me a couple weeks to get in.
