Thumbs up Should i change timing belt now 2000 gs300?

Debating whether I can hold off on changing my timing belt since I was just quoted $1100 from a mechanic?

Car only has 59k miles but it is 17 years old. Inspected the belt and it was a Fenner brand made in Germany.
Started to show some signs of wear with little crack marks as shown.

I would love to DIY but not sure if I can complete the job correctly with the concerns being basic tools and the timing marks on the cams.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's dry rotted and cracking, not much of a question there. Change it now or fix the broken motor later.
