Default Advice - Gold Package on New GS300 SE

I picked-up my new GS300, Sports Edition, Black on Black and am considering getting the Gold emblem package installed. I would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions or pictures.

Thanks!

well, i'll b honest i'm not a big fan of the gold package, i think the chrome would look nicer and match the chrome lines the car has.

I agree with the others here.... Don't do it.

The chrome matches the rest of the car's line, light housing, etc...

For some reason, I see alot of older ppl with the gold package. Older ppl meaning 50+ yr olds....just an observation.

I think the SportDesign "black pearl" emblems look awesome on the black color. They certainly look much better than gold emblems ever could!

Thanks for your input. As I said, I was on the fence, but given the feedback, I'm keeping my baby "as is".

Way to go! (Gold kits make me think "Hyundai".)

I would definitely go the black pearl route. Here's what I've found to be somewhat true in the past:

The gold emblems are more reserved for the older, LS400 crowd. The silver, ho-hum, badges are everywhere...not getting a second look from anyone. The black pearl emblems, however, seem to appeal more to the enthusiast. They are different from what most others have and more importantly - they compliment the sporty look and nature of the GS.

I've attached a picture of my silver GS400 so you can see what they look like. It was a no-brainer for me on this car - and I would imagine that it would look just as nice on your black GS. Give it some thought!

All the best,

Drew

Dan - you mentioned earlier that your new GS was the "sports" edition which assume is the sportdesign? If so, doesn't it already have the black pearl badging? IMO, keep it.

I've got black badges on my black GS, I think it looks nicely understated, a little different than most and a little 'evil'

Yes, I already have the Black Pearl design and it is growing on me as I write. I'm keeping my baby as is! What a truly great car.

Default Black Pearl is the way to go.

The Gold Emblems are definately played out. I have the Black Pearl emblems on my 00 GS400 Platinum edition and I think they are definately the most distinctive emblems of all that are available. Good call on keeping them. The definately look sweet on the Black GS
