Flickering Dashboard lights!!
I have a 98 Lexus gs300. It has roughly 190,000 miles on it.
Problems:
- dashboard lights flicker on and off. This happens most often at night when my car is using a lot more eletrical energy
-sometimes when i hit the brakes, when the flickering action is going, the car almost shuts off completely.
What i do know:
- it is NOT my battery, battery cables, or altenator. All of them are replaced and NEW on this car
I am wondering if my crankshaft pulley is in bad shape and is causing the energy lost. Maybe it needs to be replaced. Im not sure what it may be.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks

Likely a charging system or battery issue if this is happening when power draw is high (BMC draws something like 40 amps). Check everything from battery, battery terminals to your alternator.

Just because you have new alternator it might still be defective so I'd go get that checked out. I have replaced my alternator two times now with both oem reman denso alternators. First one I replaced the alternator would pass with a 14v but I had later found out the diodes in the internals were fried.

Okay. I think that may be the case. I will check it and keep you posted. Can you inform me where the "power wire" and the "combination meter" is located?
