Alexus_300...how did you weld polyurthene to metal?

Also...why'd you drill two holes on the bottom?
I know in RMMGS4's version, he drilled 2 holes on the bottom his metal bracket so they can be attached onto the polyurthene piece

I'm not sure where you're looking at to come to the conclusion that I'm welding polyurethane to metal.... Because I didn't do that anywhere on my brackets. The two holes that are drilled on the bracket is for me to bolt on my jack support that I attach onto it so when I'm on the track. That way I can just use my jack to lift the front end up easily to change brake pads and such. For everyday driving, I bolt on the Delrin pieces to avoid scratching the front end.

very interested in this, i want to go as low as possible without worry, someone who's already done or has spares, i don't have the resources to have them made where I'm at so i can buy the pieces from someone and have them put on here, just wondering though anyone doing 3 up front, like one in the middle?

Ohhh. the black piece that you have fabricated onto your tow hooks are metal? I thought it was the polyurthene piece haha.

Get creative and start making templates of your skid plate. I used a piece of card board and drew up my skid plate and then transfer it over to a nice piece of stainless steel. Then I used a plasma cutter and went away with it.

Here’s the skid plate I made on my wife’s car almost 7 years ago. The black plastic is “Delrin”. A great material to us as a skid plate.

I provided fabrication pictures on this link. There's just enough info for someone with skills to make it themselves or have a shop do it for you.

There are some fitting issues to the tow hook. I need to smoothen it out a little more the next time I remove my bumper. After that, it will be sent to Alexus_300 for fabrication

I'm 100% sure if the towhook size of the 2GS and 1IS is the same, but I believe it is. Therefore, the bracket should fit both cars...however, I think I might still have to change the design of the bracket a little bit to fit it inside. I think it's hitting the inside of my bumper a little bit...

Tow hooks are the same size. If I'm going to get these things made, I need to get a accurate head count so that I can make them all at once. I don't really have the time to make one each time someone wants one.
