Default Charged battery. Now most of dash doesn’t work

So my 98 GS300 sat for a few days and the cold affected my weak battery and died. Nothing was left on and no doors ajar. As I’m trying to jump start it fails because of the such low charge and as the key is on battery, the dash lights on and off. Later I charge it and get it to start but most of the dash doesn’t work. The AC and radio work but none of the lights are on. The speedometer and odometer don’t work. The needles all don’t move either. The turn signal lights come on and the high beam lights as well. Not the headlights though. No other lights come one but the icons come on when the key is turned to battery but not when running. The charge cables were hooked up correctly and never touched. I wonder if the placement of the clamp would have anything to do with it. Is there a breaker I can reset for this? Thanks

Usually just removing the negative battery terminal for a while and replacing will reset everything, but it may be that you need a new battery as well. Depends on how well your old one holds a charge.

If you cross the wires [+/-] you may have blown one of the large fuse in the engine compartment. These fuse are bolted in.

Especially the main fuse.
May cost 25-35 and only be available at the dealer.

Did this to my wife's old crv and that's what it cost. Replaced the main fuse and we were good to go

Unplugging the negative terminal for a while is what fixed the problem! started it up and it sounded weak (of course) so I drove it around and its fine. Will have to get a new battery soon. thanks for the help!
