Default GS400 Brake Booster Replacement

My 1998 GS400 may require a new brake booster as a loud squeaking noise is becoming a regular occurrence when car is cold and brakes are applied. In warmer weather the noise disappears when the car is driven for a while. The brake booster and master cylinder are a single unit. Can anyone advise where such a new or rebuilt unit can be purchased. I understand that the units may be expensive and difficult to locate. I am located in Western New York and local distributors don't stock the item I am searching for.

Do you have any codes? Those things run 1000s of USD. I would try to diagnose well before leaping into it. Years ago they, indy mech. & stealership wanted this done. It turned out to be a caliper bolt plastic "grommet", $0.15 part. IAC, clean and grease calipers well. Good luck.

Sorry about that. I guess I'm 'tirerer' than what I thought. I don't know if they have aftermarket parts or if u have to go to a junk yard and pull them. For example, I haven't found any aftermarket parts for our windows mpx.

im sorry that i cant help, but i feel like i have heard about the possibility of a different part all together getting swapped in, in place of the uber expensive factory part. i think it was a non abs inclusive unit, so that might not be up your alley, but something to think about. cant remember where i heard about it, here or somewhere related to ls400 stuff.
