Oil pan gasket on a 2002 lexus gs 300
#3
IIRC, the sub-frame is in the way of like one bolt (thus the reason to lift the engine just a bit. Should only have to remove the motor mounts to raise the engine just enough to get a wrench in there, no need to unbolt the tranny. The actual hard part is scraping off ALL the old FIP gasket, its tedious, but a must. If you dont get it all, you wont get a good seal when you apply the new gasket. Many have used a dremel tool to remove it, but need to be careful not to gouge a dent on the block.
Want the easy way out? Clean the hell out of the edges where the block and pan meet, and I mean clean the HELL out of it Get some black silicone and pack away all around and make a good seal
