Well, it is certainly possible to stick LED/HID bulbs into the high beam socket. It's just that it won't work safely/legally, as far as I can tell. HID's won't play well with the load resistor, and the LED's will not dim properly with the load resistor, meaning that you'd be driving with the high beams on all the time. Maybe they disable the DRLs altogether, I dunno, that's why I'm asking for specifics, not just pictures.

Like I said, it's certainly doable, but I doubt it's legal/safe. But people have done worse with lighting, that's why we're all being blinded half the time.

To the person who originally started dis thread, call a few in yo area & see who gives you the best price. You will save time by not getting options from us. Not be rude, just stating the facts

but you still haven't answered the question. What exactly did you do? You're telling him you to call around but you have an "installed solution" but won't share the details. Sounds like bs to me; I'm very analytical.

Well like you said, not to be rude, but I don't automatically trust a lighting shop to put in something that is legal and safe. I've see too many fly-by-night lighting/tinting/audio shops.

That's why I am asking what they did to your car to get the results you are describing.

194 bulb will make the parking light match the HID. As for the DRL you could put in some 9005 led cree bulbs with a decoder kit. To make them run full brightness. You'll loose the high beam output of course.

He won't respond with details because it's bs. Since the store specialized in lighting, I'm sure they installed everything per DOT requirements without blinding everyone on the road. Interested to see his response, along with photos.

Right - I wasn't willing to make that compromise, but obviously others may choose to.

I suspect you're right - I realized that he's the poster that was talking about driving 110 mph on public roads, so I doubt that safety and legality are at the top of the agenda. But I'm still willing to be proven wrong .

Look for a 9005 bulb that has a "whiter than stock" hue and swap out the 194 for a white LED. Autozone sells a bulb that has a blue tint to it. I've used it in other cars but I forget what its called. sXe or something like that.

I plan on deleting my DRLs because I don't like the fact that you can't completely shut the lights off in park. I drive with my city/parking lights on anyway.
