Im thinking about buying a Veilside hood, but im not completely convinced about it yet. Any input would be appreciated.

Also, is there any other hood options out there?

I was thinking about buying the same hood. I was also looking into the CF hoods but decided against going that route. The only other hood that looks decent was the veilside hood. any quality and fitment issues?

I cant really get into the CF pieces for the GS, I just dont feel like they "fit" the look of the car. Im not sure about the fitment of VS hood, but I know the quality of the rest of the kit was damn near perfect. I actually had the kit prepped an painted without any modifications, then put it on myself. I have had alot of kits for different cars, this is the first time I was ever able to even think about doing that. So Im assuming the hood would be as good, at least I hope so!

I'm thinking about the hood as well. The Toms is to much money.

Hi J,

I like the VS hood and would like to get one too on of these days. The thing about the hood, though, is it gives the car a more aggressive look. With my 300, I don't have the means to back up that look (if you know what I mean). If I ever get a Turbo into my car, then the hood will be part of the budget.

It is one thing to have a sleeper car. It is another to have one look mean but does not have the power to back it up. With your 400, you have less to fear.

I say go for it. I like how you are building up your ride.

i love the route u'r taking with u'r car but the vs hood is a very aggressive look 4 the front of the car and takes away a little, but if aggressive is the way u want 2 go than thats the hood 2 get.. the 2nd version or 1st ,i heard theres 2 versions, mayb its just the kit that has 2 versions?

Its the same hood for both kits. I like smooth lines, thats why im still a little iffy on wether or not its too agressive for me.

The hood is not too aggressive, it follows the lines of the E Class. However it does have a reverse vent for the turbo brethern of the GS. If you think that's too aggressive, talk with your body shop about having that part filled?

Nah, I like the reverse vent, thats what draws me to the hood in the first place.

bluelex, good idea, I think a photoshop is in order. Im also going to have someone photoshop those chrome Gettins on my car, Im thinking of making a switch on the rims(just for something new)!

Hint, I might have some HRE's up for sale very very soon!!
