My Car has been having a lot of problems lately. I've been having what i feel like a low idle misfire. My car idles fine but as soon as it warms up and i go for a drive it just just misfires like crazy and the whole car shakes when at a stop and as soon as i touch the gas pedal it goes away and the car accelerated like normal. She likes to stall a lot too. rpms fluctuate under 1k and go to dangerous speeds like 300-400 and i dont like it . I cleaned out my intake system and it worked better after then. EGR valve wasnt stuck i made sure. Dont think its the MAF sensor but made an throttle control valve. Idk it honestly pisses me off driving it and i dont want to drive it but i have no choice so if anyone wants to shed some light that would be cool. No mechanic has been able to help me and its annoying so....

Have you checked the car for any codes? Is the CEL on?

 

 

Even if the previous owner reset the malfunction indicator. It wouldn't just magically turn back on a year later. What exact O2 code did you pull up on the scanner?

 

 

I would focus on the VVTI ones. It could be a blocked filter, or failing OCV valve.

The misfires should be related to this.

There are threads on blocked OCV valve filter blockage for the GS300.

 

P1349 is normally your OCV so I would check there first.

I had the same problem awhile back. Changed out the vvti solenoid, codes and problem gone. The part was only $65 shipped from amazon.com

 

x3. I fixed my friends 01 IS300 and it was that vvti solenoid causing all kinds of wired problems.
