This is probably an old discussed thread, but does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can get a chrome rear trunk bar. I have seen a few cars in the gallery with them? and does the bar replace the painted piece or just sticks on?

i'm not sure about installation but u can get it from steve at carson toyota, i bet he knows the answer 2 u'r question too....

The chrome trunk bar is an actual replacement to the painted stock piece. To unscrew the stock piece, you have to take out the trunk lid liner to get to the screws. The whole install process shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so.

once its on , theres no going back, your stuck with the extra bling forever? i think the painted bar is much more classy. But i hate chrome so...

Be careful about purchasing this chrome trunk bar. There is an OEM piece that bolts on like someone mentioned above, but there is also a stick on type that attaches to the existing chrome bar using double sided tape.

I recommend the OEM piece that replaced the existing piece.

Be careful on what you order.
