Disable alarm?

Can the alarm on a '02 Gs430 be disabled? It's really annoying if you leave a door open for about 20 seconds the alarm goes off. Doesn't happen if key is in the ignition. I was thinking maybe the dealer could disable it? I had them disable the steering wheel from retracting every time I put key in ignition. Thanks in advance

I don't know how to disable it, but on my GS I can choose to not arm the security system by locking the car by hand instead of with the remote key (locking with the remote key automatically arms the security system). You should check if it works on your GS because I heard it has to do with the region.

Thanks guys for the input. I'm going to call the dealer and see if they can disable it. I really just need to be able to open and close door locks with remote don't care about the alarm part of it. I also have a '99 Sc300 and never have problems with the alarm if it even has an alarm lol.

RRGS: Do you have any actuator or door sensor problems? The GS not arming with manual lock usually points to bad door sensors.
