P0441 & p0446
So today I noticed these two codes came up on my car and I have a hose underneath the plastic cover on the motor that came out and was loose,it’s towards the back of the motor on the passenger side and I was wondering if anyone knows what part number it may be
Sorry I don’t have a picture of it right now but it attaches to a valve I think and it attaches to the air hose assembly
Thanks everyone

I would inspect that hose at both ends where the clamp if off as it usually cracks right at the end (or ends). I had to change that hose when I first got my Lexus and I bought a foot of hose at my local auto parts store (take your old hose inside to see size), cut it down slightly and it works better than the thinner OEM hose.

Wow, I'm such a jerk! LoL I know the exact fix for this and didnt say However, it too is written all over this site if you'd done a search; its a very common issue being that the vsv is exposed to the elements. I've even given detailed info as for why. Anyways, I got more focused on your hose inquiry that I didn't read the title
446 with a 441.
446 (vent control malfunction) IS the VSV on the canister, purge valve (in your case) is stuck closed. This causes a build up in pressure and it has to release SOMEwhere... So where? Its weakest link, which was that hose you found. You may want to check the driver side firewall, theres a hose there that likes to come off too...
441 (incorrect purge flow, basically meaning its being purged from the wrong area) is caused because of that hose(s) that came off and is purging through there rather than the vsv
The only fix is swapping that valve. You can get them for under $20 bucks, but its a pain in the buthole to change. If you know someone, they'll probably do it for about $100 bucks. Find the guy who WONT drop the axle to change it because thats gonna cost a bunch to do. It can be done easily that way (cause the canister is right above the pumpkin), but it can be done blindly by sticking your hand in there and having a LOT of patience.
so yep. Thats it.

Had the P0446 code pop up today on my GS400. Checked under the engine cover and found the culprit. Went to Autozone and got a foot of 5/16 tubing and fixed it. One end was hard to reattach (bottom of the pic) but I’m hoping over time it’ll become a bit more flexible and I’ll be able to push it down further. Disconnected my battery for a few min and CEL was gone.

I had the 446 code for 6 years and learned a LOT from it. Most likely you're just in the beginnings of a future intermittent problem. The 446 will come and go until the valve completely malfunctions and the code stays on.
Now I say this believing you replaced a hose, at least thats what your statement insinuates. Also, if the hose was the actual cause of the problem, you'd get the 441 code as I previously mentioned. The 446 is an electrical or valve issue and in the past 20 years this car has been around, its pretty much points to the valve.
Oh and of course the CEL is gone, you cleared it LoL Gotta give it time to detect the issue again. At least you did find a crack in the million miles of tubing on the engine haha, thats the one thing I hate looking for as well as looking for vacuum leaks

LoL you didn't fix the problem sir. You just made a weak link stronger.

And how were you able to pass inspection with the code for 6 years? Lol.

Oops, you're right. This is only a band aid fix. The valve will definitely end up completely malfunctioning probably in a few months. I'll get that replaced eventually along with the BMC when the time comes. I plan to keep this car until it dies. Car is 20 years old with only one owner (parents and then me) and currently at 156k miles

Well apparently after doing a thorough check under my hood I found that this was disconnected
I
can only imagine how many more MPG’s I would’ve gotten on my trip to Florida
I reconnected it & reset the codes
lets see how it all works out
I purchased the purge valve for the carbon canister but hopefully won’t have to replace it
