Default DLC No communication

Anyone experience this on their 01 and newer GS 300? I would hate to open up that ECU.
is there another way to verified the pin 2 data signal wires from ECU?

Thanks in advance

Did you check for a blown fuse? Passenger side under the glove box.

Using a oscilloscope on the data pin would tell you there's a signal going to that pin. I think its pin 7 on the OBD2 plug

Is everything working as it should on your car?

According to the wiring diagram, its pin 7. See page 4 of the attached pdf "data link connector 3".

Did they change the pin arrangement with 2001 on-wards?

The standard configuration of all OBD2 ports has the data lead on pin 2 and lexus is no exception. Here is a test for you to verify.......disconnect pin 2 from the OBD connector and connect your scan tool. You will get a comm error since it cannot read the ecu data.

Attached a diagram for reference......

I guess it depend on what protocol / country you are from too. ISO9141-2 / 14230-4 (K-line) uses pin 7 for data transmission. I can verify this because my 2000 GS300 uses this pin. The other one is the SAE J1850 which uses pin 2.
It appears the US has different protocols to NZ (where I live) and Japan.
Heres the actual obd2 plug of my car and the pins

Yes the US does use a different protocol from Japan.
