OEM GS4 Spoiler fitting on a GS3?
I bought a OEM Spolier off a 98(I think, have to double check)GS4, I have a 2000 Plantium Edition GS3 - for some reason when i try to align it to my trunk lid its off about 2-3 inches it wont fit
I thought that any GS spoiler would fit wether its a 3/4/430
Maybe i need a install kit or something
does anyone know if there is a difference between a gs4 and gs3 spolier?
Any info about this would be great
Thanks

No difference
CaM,
there should be NO difference in the spoilers for GS3/GS4/GS43. What do you mean when you say it is off? Is it not wide enough? If so, how sure are you that you got an OEM? There is 1 spoiler company that I know of that makes a replica OEM spoiler for Lexus that is about 2-3 inches smaller than OEM...ie 90% of the size and you'd only know if it was side by side, or were as meticulous with our cars as most of us here on CL are.
The spoilers normally arrive with a template for the holes to be drilled, and then some foam/silicone gasket that sits between the spoiler and trunklid. I'm guessing you got neither one. Once you decide what you are doing with the spoiler if you need that stuff let me know, or call Tommy (in Parts) at Lexus of Manhattan and he may be able to get the template and gasket stuff for you.

Johnny,
I bought it from a CL member, He said it was OEM from a GS4 - how can i tell the difference between an OEM and aftermrket one. Its not short its wider, when i line up the 2 holes w/one side of the truck lid the other side goes past the trunk lid .,.......the 2 holes on each side should be in more-maybe im doing seomthing wrong.......the spoiler does say toyota on it , and looks like a GS spolier
Not sure what the problem is,

I sold him this spoiler from my 98 GS400, it is the spoiler that came with the car. He is saying that its too long, not too short. We all know it fits the GS4, because it just came off my car last week for the Veilside install, it is 100% a factory GS4 spoiler. I am baffled as to why a spoiler that came off a GS4 would be too wide for a GS3.

Puzzled
CaM,
I don't know, maybe it's just the way you are "rough-fitting it", do you have a GS nearby that you can compare with? You're more than welcome to come up to White Plains and compare it to mine. The spoiler should sit as far back as it can go on the trunklid, and pretty much end to end on the width.

Phil, heres an old pic of my car with the trunk open. Look at the ends of the spoiler, its supposed to hang over the trunk lid like that, Im just looking at your pics and trying to figure out what im missing for the install. The screw holes your talking about on the end, cannot be the ones that bolt the spoiler down because they are covered with that plastic cover. There must be a bracket that bolts into them and curves down to the flat part. Im still wating for a call back from my body guy with an explanation of the removal/install process.

Here it is with the cover on - I was thinking maybe there is a mounting kit needed where you would mount a metal piece or something into those holes and where the 2 red dots are 2 screws would be sticking out
Just a guess, cause if there were 2 holes where the red dots are then it wouldnt be a problem installing
I dont know what to think
