Default Removing front seat without power?

I need a new seat frame. My up and down tracking is stripped. I found a local junk yard with a good looking seat for 60 bucks. However the 14 mm bolts that hold down the seat are only accesible on the front of the seat. I need to move it forward to get the back bolts off. I heard you can just hook up a battery and do that. However no success. Is there somewhere to cut the harness that feeds the seat loom? Is there a manual way to move the seat forward? Thanks guys!!

I was out in the 100° Austin Texas heat today dealing with this same issue. Did you ever digitf anything out? I was about to die in the middle of a junkyard so I had to quit. Please tell me you found some info! I'm going back tomorrow and if I continue to have bad luck in gonna burn the 02 GS to the ground and roast marshmallows on the flames!

Use a wrench and a make sure you have a lot of patience. I used a shorty wrench when I had this problem.

Nice Post rinnyerin! I also found that in the front there are two nuts. One in front of each track. You can turn them manually and they move the seat forward or back.
