Question GS430 color choices for 2003

Hello everyone,

Well, I am taking the plunge and have decided to get a new GS430. However, I was hoping to get one in the Blue Marlin Pearl color, as described by the Lexus.com website as one of the color choices. However, one salesperson told me that this color is only available on the GS300, and no GS430s are made in this color. Is this true? If so, what other colors shown on the website are not available on the GS430? Are there any colors not listed on the website that are available on the GS430?

I'm trying to find out what the truth is, if I can't have the Blue Marlin Pearl I have to re-think my choice, or find a dealer that can get one in that color....

Ah Ha! Thanks for the quick reply...But if I am not mistaken, I think that is the Blue Onyx pearl color, which is a few shades darker than the Blue Marlin Pearl....But thanks for checking so quickly!

Please don't apologize! None is needed ! I have found this group and its participants to be tremendously helpful, which is pretty important when one is considering a $50K purchase! Kudos to you and everyone that have been so helpful!

Well, I doubt you're going to want to paint a brand new $60K automobile, so...

In 2002, despite the ten or so color choices on the website, the GS430 was only available in the west region in black, white, silver, and gold. There was a tiny allocation of black cherry pearl sent to the central and east regions. Unfortunately this is a quirk of the Lexus production and allocation system, and if you can find a way around it then you're more stubborn than I. I pursued every available path to get a different color and found NO WAY around this--no special orders, no fudging the paperwork to get a 430 in a 300 color, etc.

Sorry I don't have better news!

Iceman,

Many thanks for this information. It seems to fit exactly what I have found so far...Of the three dealers I have spoken to so far, I have found models in White, Black, Silver, and the Cherry color...No other colors found yet.
