Default Replaced steering column now won’t connect to steering

Hi I super need help!! So I bought 99 gs300 from my neighbor for cheap. He lost the key and broke the ignition so so we could move the car to my place. I had to replaced the whole column, whenI put it in the shaft that goes from the column to the rack is not extending log enough to connect the steering. The shaft slides in and out but not out far enough to connect. Is there a Certain position I have to have the shaft in for it to slide all the way out?

it sounds like your neighbor sold you a stolen car lol

do you have the electronics plugged in? if so maybe try sliding the steering shaft out some, otherwise maybe a pic will help? also do you mind seeing if you can help me out here

i was kidding.

do you already have it bolted in up top? if so undo those 4 bolts, put that part in and then as i said hookup the electrical parts and use the steering wheel adjust....

I had the same issue when I replaced my dash. I unbolted the top 4 bolts then hooked up the column from the steering rack then pulled it back into place with the 4 bolts on top
What did you do?
