Default Part number for front bumper chrome moulding?

Hi everyone,

I need a new chrome moulding/strip for my front bumper since my current one is oxidized. Polishing brings the shine back but it doesn't last long at all. I'm looking for the part number, but it seems like the front moulding is the same as the rear moulding? Lexus South Atlanta Parts gives the same part number for both:

The part I need is 52711, which refers to MOULDING, REAR BUMPER. MOULDING, RR BUMPER. The chrome moulding of the rear bumper has the same part number so it seems like they are the same, but the rear moulding is longer than the front moulding right?

Hope you guys can help me, thanks!
Kind regards,
RRGS

I bought both the front and rear moldings as separate part numbers and both were shipped rolled into a coil. I didn't take them out of the package, but as best as I could tell, the coils were the same or a very similar length. If so, they then they would probably be DIY cut-to-fit.

The moulding for the front bumper is 52711-30200

The moulding for the rear is

52751-30110

They are NOT the same part number!

Thanks for the replies. You're right Letsride, that's what I found on other websites in the meantime. The annoying thing is that Amayama (Japanese car parts supplier) says the part is discontinued and refers to 52751-30110 (which is for the rear bumper).

8M6, I hope they are the right lenghts and you don't have to cut them...that sounds stupid for an OEM part. Maybe you can measure the two mouldings to verify if they differ in length?

No problem. The rear molding is definitely longer due to the shape of the bumper. The rear can be used with the front.....(trimming involved) but not the other way around

Ok, clear explanation. I will search for an OEM front moulding. I just want the original part without any cutting needed. That's why I buy an OEM part.

Does the moulding come with (3M) tape attached to it? Or do I need to apply this separately?

Heres a quick and cheaper option, its something I did after the body shop lost my brand new one while getting painted and I had a car show that weekend. You can get a roll of it from AutoZone. The difference is very much minute. Its maybe a millimeter or two shorter in size (from top to bottom), You'd have to very much look for it to see the difference. The biggest difference is its depth. Its easily 3 times tinner than the OEM, but thats an easy fix. I got 3M acrylic tape of the same size (that gray 2-sided tape with the red plastic) and doubled up behind the chrome stripping. Blends in just fine with no difference to be found.

Did my front and rear.

I did the same thing, works great and it's a lot cheaper than the OEM parts.

I handed my molding rolls to the body shop because I was having the bumpers repainted, but the other replies in this thread are all spot on. If you search 5271130200 and 5275130110 on eBay, I also see non-OEM moldings for sale at half the price of OEM.

Thanks guys. Thanks for the hint Mr Jokster, seems like an efficient solution. My preference goes out to original parts so I ordered the original one, I don't really care it's twice as expensive since it's a part that wil last long (hopefully, my old one lasted for +18 years).

agreed, i was literally just searching for this old thread to redo my new bumper

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-existant.html

if you can find 3/8" get that if not go with 1/4" trim

or this guy claims this part IS OEM and for that price maybe
