I have to park my car in the sun during the summer. Around here, 100 degree summer days are not uncommon. With a black interior, it's extremely hot after sitting 8 hours. If I keep the battery in the key fresh, I can activate the windows from the second floor of my building. The time from when I roll down the windows and open the sunroof to when I get to the car is maybe one minute. It's amazing how much the interior cools off in that time.

A little tip for those who need a boost in range. Hold the remote to your chin while you press the buttons, you get a lil bit extra. Please comment with your experience, It works for me a great number of times.

i wish the 98-2000GS had the newer factory remotes or hardware wutever.. the older systems dont have as much range as the newer ones it sux.. my toyota solara was that way too..

I've read this entire thread twice, regarding enhancing the stereo amp levels. Is there a way to get to the Audio screen on a newer gs300, ie, 01-05? Many here like myself get to the P190 code, but when we hold the AM down for 4-5 seconds.....nothing happens.

Are we SOL on our models? I don't have navigation.

Anyway to turn on the headlights with the remote? ie. reverse of turning off the headlights with the lock button twice.

I tried to change the radio setting. P1 thing, but never worked. I looked online for pictures of stereos and there is one with 2 ***** one for volume and one for audio control.
I dont have the audio control ****, but I had 5 small *****; bass, mid, treb, bal, fade.
I held 1 and 6 and pushed cd 3-4 times and other combos but no setting came up.
Has anybody with the 5 **** setting stereo tried this and gotit to work. Its in a 1999 gs400 nakamichi premium audio.

I looked in the owner's manual and there is 2 types of radios. One with the ASL and the other w/o ASL(mine). It must only workwith the other one.

Remove the A/C filter was easy, thanks for the tips. It was so dirty, you don't pay much attention to these things until you see all the dirt that you are breathing every day in your car.

My mercedes would let you roll the windows UP too. I wish we had that feature.
