First off thanks CL. For the longest time i thought my trunk open on my remote was broken.
Saw that the default setting says u need to hold it for 1 sec. HAHA!
Secondly, today i went to Cerritos Lexus to get a C-best setting changed so that the doors would stop locking when i shifted out of Park. I wasn't the least bit surprised at the events that followed.
Me: I'd like to get my cbest settings changed
Dealer: What?
Me: I'd like for you guys to change the setting so that my doors would stop locking when i shift out of park
Dealer: That'll be $70
Me: Fine
<15 minutes pass while i wait in line>
Dealer: We can't do that for your car
Me: Yes you can, i did my research.
Dealer: <Talks on the phone to head technician> Can we do this and that.. blah blah. <Technician tells her no> Yeah, his my head mechanic and if he says no, then we can't do it.
Me: Bull**** <is what i wanted to say>. Let me talk to someone else, you clearly have no idea what your talking about. Here's what you do, you plug in the Lexus diagnostics tool into the car and change the settings under Door Lock. yatta yatta.. i continue to explain.
<At this point, the rep goes away for 10 minutes probably asking around>
Dealer comes back looking embarrassed and tells me they can indeed do it, and tells the valet boy to take the car to Peter. Then, tells me they'll comp the service at no charge.
They changed the setting in literally 5 minutes and i was on my way. I was stoked i saved some money.

"Relentless pursuit of perfection.......he,he more like incompetence. At least they were smart enough to comp it. Wha year is your Gs?? They told me on my 98 that it would only unlock into park, but not the other way around. Apparently only the newer models had that option.
Congrats!!!

I have a late 01 GS3 with factory Pioneer head unit and that audio hack does work. I did it a few months ago. Mine's an Aussie delivered car though, should be similar to Euro spec.

I have been wondering the same thing. I just read this entire thread from start to finish and I cannot find anyone that is able to get into the advanced settings for a 04+ ML Nav system. I did try the climate and audio button while turning my parking lights on and off. Apparently it either doesn't work on the ML or I am not doing it correctly. Either way I think the later model GS-ML-Nav may be a no go for the advanced audio settings.

Just for clarity,
There is a DIY on this forum for changing the "cabin air filter" on a 2nd Generation GS which seems to point to the same filter that is referred to as the "air conditioner filter" on this thread. Here. Is there more than one entrance in my glove box to two different filters? Or are they referring to the same filter and I'm just succumbing to the power of semantics too easily?
