Not sure if intended, but my wife found that if you go somewhere and park, the headlights don't turn off (she had keys in ign still, but engine off). She didn't know why the headlights never turned off. My guess is the car was patiently waiting for her to get out....

She didn't know how to turn the lights off manually.

RamAirRckt,

Your wife has the headlights in Auto mode. So even when engine is off the lights are still on for like 1 minute or so before it turns off automatically.

To turn it off the headlight manually just use the left **** on the steering wheel and turn it down to "off"

Ok guys don't laugh...

I just bought my 2001 GS430 and can't figure out for the life of me how to lock the car. If I click the lock/unlock button it unlocks. If I hold it, it unlocks. If I hold it really long, all the windows roll down, lol.

The only way is to walk away from it and after about 30sec it locks on it's own automatically. Anyone know how to lock the car immediately without waiting?

My 98 has 3 buttons, lock (panic), unlock and trunk. Did you try the "panic" button? It is the lock button. Yeah i was puzzled on that too...

Question, I have a 98 GS4 and when you press the lock button before all doors close it beeps and stays on till the doors are closed. Will it lock eventually or do I have to press the lock button again?

I haven't seen it do it yet, I found my 00 Buick Park Ave Ultra does just that, if you press the inside power lock button, it is set to beep 3x and then will wait 30 seconds after all doors close to lock. My 99 Suburban is similar if you use any lock button and the rear doors are open, it will lock once it is closed.

yes it will. not sure if there's a limit on the amount of time you leave the door(s) opened however.

Thanks for the post!!! I've been a GS owner for a little over a year and learned these on my own, but just found out about using the remote to lower windows a few weeks ago by accident lol.

Nice POST!

i just want to share that my GS is also stocked with a peronalized BLACKERRY phone holder.

It just fits the cassette player perfectly !!! haha...

This is for someone who also have a Blackberry phone, and finding the cup holder place is always full of stuff, and no space for your phone.
