New exhaust needed
No issues currently but exhaust system will eventually need replacement. Don’t want anything fancy. Do we trust Midas or what other some other alternatives?

If it came to the point where replacing the exhaust were actually necessary, I would just buy a Tanabe Medalion for the ~1100 bucks it costs and it will outlast the car.
But if you have a specialist muffler shop, get local recommendations, go see them. They can definitely do it cheaper.

Tanabe's are super nice and really high quality but lacks in sound. Almost sounds stock. Keep that in mind, my buddy bought a Corsa exhaust for his evo x, like $2300 or so, and was pissed of as hell because it sounded stock.

I’d like the sound of stock or slightly more, nothing significant. Sounds like these are slightly more than stock sounding

That Tanbae is probably going to drone on the highway since it doesn't have a resonator. I have a Toms exhaust which is similar and also stainless but has a resonator and its about the same price. Also keep in mind drone and noise is subjective and what might bother one person could be totally fine for someone else

Tom's isn't available new. They come up fairly frequently on Yahoo! Auctions Japan, since in addition to being sold as kits, they were installed on Tom's VA300 Aristos as well.
I mentioned the Tanabe Medalion Touring because it's quiet, the closest thing to a full stainless stock replacement. It's certified to be 93dB or less.
The A'PEX WS2 cat-back does have a resonator on the single mid-pipe, but aside from the muffler canisters which are stainless steel, the system is titanium coated mild steel. It's a little pricier than the Tanabe, but same idea- mild noise, mild performance.
There are other, cheaper options, including some axle-back exhausts, but they are substantially louder and more likely to drone.
There isn't really any need to replace any part of the exhaust until it's actually broken.

nothing wrong with my exhaust, I guess was trying to be proactive? Or leave well enough alone?
