Default Ashtray led light replacement

Hi everyone, I want to replace my ashtray light to led but I can't find it in the forums. Has anyone done this and show a link how to do it? Thanks in advance

I did it. I forget. I though it was just prying the clear cover off and changing a 74 bulb.

I remember that the ash tray is the actual tray/housing and a separate cover. I think you have to take the cover off to access the bulb.

Remove the ashtray. Then the front cover pops off that you see while sitting in the car. It's the tiny bulb that is used for under the dash and keyring

Yes, open the ashtray and pull up and it will pop out. It's held on by clips.

When I swapped my with a 74 led it won't light up. Haven't had any problems with any other lights not working

LED are polarity specific, flip the bulb around and try again. Also make sure it's plugged in.

Everything is plugged in properly. I turned it, swapped it with another and there's still nothing.

UPDATE: it randomly lit up tonight. I had the cover for the ashtray off since the "failed" install. 🎶🎵I was blinded by the light🎵🎶

Snapped a couple pics for those of us who are visual learners

like others mentioned above, pull the entire housing out, unplug the harness, flip it over to pop off the main cover, then unscrew the clear diffuser to get access to the bulb.

Tabs that are holding the cover on

Got it out, but cannot seem to press the tabs shown to remove the cover? Got it, lift.
