Is it worth paying dealer price for this VSV or will a used/aftermarket one work just fine? I know somethings it is best to go with the OEM part, is this one? I reached out to Aliga to see if he has one, no response as yet. Rockauto takes FOREVER to ship items so I'm not really trying to purchase anything from them unless I really don't need it for at least 2 weeks. I've checked Ebay and Amazon, even called the Toyota dealership ( scared of the Lexus dealership prices),

I always go OEM and usually find a Lexus/Toyota dealer on eBay....so for around $50 I would go new. I think a used one was $24? but it's not worth taking a chance.
Found this on eBay a short while ago:

Got the part, did the replacement. Car drove good for about 2 days, now I'm getting back the high/low idle at first start up, and still getting the random lurching when driving.... though not nearly as frequent as before. I am going to probably replace the hoses next, and look into replacing the throttle body also( or should I just replace the throttle position sensor?), it can't hurt on a 17 year old car!

You probably missed one or more cracked hoses...on our SC430 we replaced a hose drove all the way to the beach and got a CEL...came back lifted the cover and found ANOTHER hose that was cracked. Ended up replacing 3 total! Take a flashlight and look everywhere, on the bottom side of the hoses, etc. and I bet that's where your problem lies. Try it and let us know. I wouldn't mess with the TPS just yet.
