Hi everyone,
I recent bought a 2005 GS 300. After I took it home, I decided to check the oils again and replace what's needed. Upon checking the transmission oil, the oil level was at 1/2 of the stick which is way over the pre-marked indicators. The first check after not driving a few days and repeated checks (wiping the stick and reinsert to verify). I've since extracted about 2 quarts and the level seems to have gone down. I drove around the block to get the transmission pumping the oil a bit. Now I'm puzzled as to the level of the transmission oil after leaving it overnight. My initial check seems to indicate that the oil level is right where it should be for cold. After wiping the stick and reinserting it to verify, the oil level is way above max for hot even though the car hasn't been driven for almost 24 hours. I've never seen this with any other cars before. Anyone has any suggestions?
TIA,
Tommy
PS: The previous own had transmission oil changed by a repair shop.
