Default Can someone please help...

I fell in love with the GS years ago theyre sexy cars and i finally had a chance to get my hands on 1... but im having so much trouble...She starts up just fine but the idle is alil off and when i try to drive it she lacks all go...She sounds like shes trying to go but just has no power and the motor sounds like its sucking air i think but im lost on this one...shes my 1st lexus and i know nothing about these cars...ive had 3 different mechanics come by and take a look at it and everyone of them gave me a different issue as to why my car isnt running right...1st one said "o yea its the spark plugs that will be $40 for me coming by"so i di d 1 better i put new spark plugs wires and coils... still same problem... then the next one came out" oh this is 4sure your throttle body" so i put a new throttle body...still same problem...the the last guy came out "o yes its for sure your fuel pump" so i bought a new fuel pump and filter and still the same problem... im lost and dont know what to do... if anyone can help please do i live in las vegas if anyone knows anybody or is near the area that could help me id be beyond thankful...i dont want to get rid of this car i love it and havent even been able to drive her yet... thank you all in advance

Get your alternator checked maybe?

Any codes? GS300 or GS400? I would check your vacuum lines for leaks and air box for cracks.

ive got no codes due to the car sitting with dead battery and havent drove it enough to trigger any codes

I only ask because you mentioned "idle is off" and sounds like it's "sucking air" which sounds like a vacuum leak. You mentioned you haven't been able to drive it yet, did you buy it like this? Or was something recently changed that cause it to run badly? You can take it to Autozone and they can test your alternator and battery, but I wouldn't replace any more parts until you know exactly what the issue is. The 3 mechanics evidently have not worked on a 2GS before. Find someone who knows the vehicle or take it to the dealer. Much cheaper than replacing parts hoping to find the issue.

EDIT: Btw, I had a vacuum leak once for 3 MONTHS and I couldn't find out why my car was running rough and stalling intermittently at stop lights. No codes. Took it to the dealer and paid the $120 diagnostic fee and they found the problem in 5 MINUTES. I had a cracked vacuum hose. Didn't even charge me for it. Yes, it was an expensive hose but IMO that's much better than guessing.

I agree thanks bro...thats a good idea...im gonna look at all hoses and vacuum lines... then drive it over to auto zone and have them look at the alternator... thank u very much for your help bro...
