Gas gauge?

I purchased a 2000 and it appears that my gas guage is off buy 1/4. Found out the hard way when i ran out of gas. Then today when i filled up it stopped at 3/4 full. I took the fuel pump out and looked at the sending unit. It appears to look fine but apparently not. Will a new unit fix the problem ot what to do.

Did you physically move the float lever and see it change on the gauge from full to empty. I don't have the spec handy but some one may have the Ohm value at the two extreme.

I had the same issue way back. I took the pump out again and made sure nothing was in the way. Went back to normal.

I have the same issue with my car as well. I just fill my car up when it gets to 1/2 tank line. It took me 3 hours to figure out why my car wasnt starting at burger king parking lot when it first happened to me.
