Hi guys,
What you do you guys think of $37,019 for a new 2003 Lexus GS 300 with the options of leather/memory seat and cargo net. The dealer is also tacking on a $385.00 charge that is pre-printed on the contract for a PermaVIN, which is the etching of the VIN # on the car for security purposes. Were you guys also charged for a PermaVIN? It stills seems like a good deal to me, but I wanted to get your thoughts on it.
Thanks!

Although it'd be nice to have this VIN etched in your car, if someone really wanted to take your car, they would jack it, drive it to a nearby chopshop, and your car would be in pieces within hours.
All in all, if someone wants your car and they're professional, they'll take your car.
There's no reason why they should be allowed to charge you that. Heck, just a couple hundred bucks extra and you'd have yourself an intake for your first mod!

trust me, they are making $$ of that "etching"...not as bad as some dealers who charges more than $385...
..take my word for it, i used to work for a dealer who does that

The prices have come down. 30k miles is pretty low miles for a 2k1. I would also get the 430 as you wont incur the depreciation of a new car. If speed is your thing then you will definately want a 400 or 430

There are various factors affecting GS430 used value, the car color, spoiler ( it is a pain if you wanna add on factory style spoiler later, lid light and etc..), navigation, chrome 17's. I have checked out these pics on your links, seems like they mostly lack of what I have stated above. bascially I think a fully loaded silver/blk with everything in 33k miles would stil cost towards 4k though.
If you consider low mileages used car, always go to dealer and test drive the GS4 brand new first, then it will make a lot of things very clear

It is a very good price. You should negotiate to get the PermaVIN not include in the price. Most dealer wants to unload their inventory at this time of year.
GS300 is a nice car but I like GS400/430 better. I myself recently got a used GS400.

Don't forget about this. I am not sure about your dealer, but on the Kuni Lexus it worked just fine.
